Borealis Recording Artist James Keelaghan is a busy man.  Fresh from a jaunt to Ireland, he is today releasing Walk On from the album Second Hand ahead of a tour of Atlantic Canada with David Woodhead on bass (see above for dates).  He will also perform in the US and western Canada before Christmas, and is lining up dates for Ontario in early 2025.  See his full touring schedule here. The publicist for the Maritime tour is Wendy Phillips, Phillips PR wendy@pprl.ca Western USA and Canadian dates are listed below.

James’ last single from Second Hand (the title track) received an astonishing amount of airplay all over the world, Europe, the UK, Canada, America and Australia, scoring important international chart positions in the process.  Second Hand was the Penguin Eggs/Roots Music Canada 2022 Critics Album of the Year and was also nominated for the Best Traditional Roots Album Juno Award in 2024.
Keelaghan is celebrated for his keen sense of songwriting, which takes on topical issues of concern to all of us, and unmistakable rich baritone voice. His recent album, Second-Hand finds Keelaghan at the top of his game with ten new songs, including co-writes with Catherine MacLellan, Dave Gunning, Lynn Miles, J.D. Edwards, and Cara Luft.

There’s a reason why Keelaghan is considered by many to be Canada’s greatest songwriter, and these folk rooted tracks certainly reinforce that idea, and are likely to garner even more praise his way.” – Effect Magazine

He displays a genius for finding his way deep inside big stories, building them outward from palpably intimate moments.” – The Boston Globe

Keelaghan produced and recorded Second-Hand in studio with long time musical pal, David Woodhead on bass, along with Bob Stagg on keyboards and guitarists Bob Cohen, Dave Clarke and Joe Grass. Harmony vocals were provided by Pharis & Jason Romero and Kelly Prescott. The album was produced in Montréal by Bill Garrett.
